A plan in the early stages

From time to time the question creeps into my mind, what am I going to do with the next few years of my life? Usually I'm pretty comfortable being open to whatever the next idea is and when it's time for a change, changing. But today an idea came to mind that makes me feel... I'm searching for the right word. Energized? Excited? Empowered? Some combination of the three perhaps. I thought about all the different options for meditation in America. Different schools, maybe hundreds of meditation centers and monasteries, styles. I assumed, which was at least in part confirmed by Daniel, that there is no real guide, no source to turn to for a wide range of information on meditation options. Maybe the American meditation community isn't massive, but this could be a valuable resource.
It is a plan in the very early stages, but here it is: Spend 2-3 years touring the United States with Daniel, visiting as many meditation centers and monasteries from as wide a selection as possible, sit retreats, volunteer, get a sense of the experience and how it differs in this way or that. All the while we will be writing, compiling, chapters for a guide book and whatever other media's Daniel suggests. The internet as well I'm sure.
I can't imagine a book like this would make us any money, but it would allow me to explore the wide world of meditation in America, create a comprehensive (or as close to it as we can get) resource for other seekers along this path, and I think I could get it published. As a matter of fact, I'm sure I can. And will.

There is also a voice that is all about the glory. Writing a book. Living a varied but very steady life of meditation for a sizable amount of time. Daniel says he sees the voice sometimes telling him that if he meditates for 5 hours, he can tell people about it. I have that voice. Don't we all? It feels like part of the social human condition.

Anyway, an idea in the making, but what an idea...
